These are two that I did for the WoodNet May Challenge.
The first is out of an unknown wood and is quite soft. The difference in wood color between one side and the streak passing through the other is quite striking - almost white to brown.
Here's the second, also made out of an unknown wood, but this one is rock hard. Probably the hardest piece of wood I've ever turned. I roughed it out to round with a gouge, then used only a skew chisel on it to improve my skill with it.
